Research partners Water Authority Aa en Maas, CirTec and KWR Watercycle Research Institute have finalised the Screencap research project at wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) Aarle-Rixtel. The project was subsidised by the European Union and aimed to promote the large scale market introduction of finescreen technology. The main findings are that as a result of the implementation of the finescreens, the aeration energy demand reduces by 15%, sludge production reduces by  10% and the capacity of the WWTP increases by 10%.
